Persepolis has been defeated by Moghavemat Sepasi of Shiraz at the 13th week
of the Iranian Premier League (IPL).
The hosts gained a 1-0 great victory over the Reds at the Hafezieh Stadium
in Shiraz on Thursday.
Mostafa Sabri managed to score the only goal of the match in the 71st
minute.
“We filled all the gaps and made them use long crosses which were of no
use,” said Moghavemat's boss, Qolamhossein Peyrovani.
This is the fourth time Persepolis has conceded defeat. They had already
lost to Mes of Kerman, Abumoslem of Mashhad and Foulad of Khuzestan.
“Unfortunately, I did not have enough concentration on my decisions this
time. I might have made mistakes in my substitutions,” said Persepolis coach
Afshin Qotbi.
“The situation is very difficult for us, but we hope to win our next four
home matches to stand atop the IPL table at the half season,” he added.
Zobahan of Isfahan currently tops the IPL table on 25 points. Paykan stands
second with 24 points. Esteqlal sits in the third place with 21 points, one
more than Persepolis.
