Persepolis defeats Barq 3-1 in IPL

PTV - Tehran side Persepolis has easily defeated Barq 3-1 at home to celebrate its first victory in three matches in Iran's Premier League (IPL).

Ali Karimi (24'), Karim Baqeri (40') and Alireza Nikbakht Vahedi (77') scored for Persepolis and Masoud Nazarzadeh (73') scored for Barq, which suffered its first defeat of the season.

Persepolis had lost to Abumoslem 3-4 and Foulad 2-3 in its last two matches in the league.

The victory moved Persepolis up to fifth, on level points with Esteqlal, which has better goal difference. Barq remained third with 19 points.

Also on Wednesday, Peykan defeated Sepahan 4-2 to replace Zob Ahan at the top of the table with 24 points and better goal difference. Damash lost 1-0 to Foulad and Mes drew 1-1 with Saipa.
