Esteqlal beats Pas 4-2 in Iran league

PTV - Jabbari scores twice for Esteqlal in a 4-2 victory over Pas which moved the Tehran side to the fourth place in Iran's Premier League.

Ali Alizadeh put Esteqlal ahead in the 29th minute, but Mohammad Gholami scored the equalizer for Pas three minutes into the second half.

Jabbari had a brilliant second half in Tuesday's match and scored twice for Esteqlal in four minutes.

Arash Borhani put a final touch on Esteqlal's brilliant day with his injury-time goal. Hanif Omranzadeh could not relieve Pas' humiliating home defeat despite his goal, which was also scored in injury time.

This was Esteqlal's first victory in an away match in the Premier League which moved the club to the fourth place with 18 points.

Also on Tuesday, Zob Ahan beat Moqavemat Sepasi 2-0 to stand in the first place with 24 points. Payam beat Abumoslem 1-0 in Mashhad derby to escape the relegation zone for the time being. Rah Ahan and Saba Battery ended in a 1-1 draw and Esteqlal Ahvaz thrashed Malavan 3-0.

The Premier League's 11th day will end with four matches on Wednesday:

Persepolis vs. Barq, Damash vs. Foulad, Sepahan vs. Peykan and Mes vs. Saipa.
