MNA - Persepolis football team
was beaten by Fulad of Khuzestan 3-2 on Saturday in the Iran Professional
League (IPL) in Ahvaz’s Takhti Stadium.
The Tehran-based team suffered its second consecutive defeat in front of
30,000 spectators. The team had lost to Abumoslem of Khorasan 4-3 last week.
Ahmad Alneme gave the hosts a lead in the 15th minute with a long range
shot. Siamak Sarlak doubled the score in the 23rd minute, finding himself
unmarked into Persepolis’ zone and opened Alireza Haghighi’s goal.
De Karmo kept Persepolis’s hopes alive, opening Fulad’s goal in the 31st
minute.
Four minutes into the second half Fulad netted Persepolis goal again.
Mohammad Ghazi escaped an offside trap to get past the Persepolis goalie.
Persepolis put Fulad under pressure and Hadi Noruzi eventually opened the
hosts’ goal with four minutes on the clock.
