IRNA - German-Iranian defender
Shervin Radjabali Fardi has been named for Hertha Berlin's starting
formation for the UEFA Cup qualifying return match against lowly Slovenian
side NK Interblock Ljubljana on Thursday, the sports press reported.
Last month, the 17-year-old Radjabali-Fardi made his debut in the UEFA Cup
qualifying round in Berlin's 8-1 rout against lowly Moldavian club Nistru
Otaci.
It was a 'great feeling' to play in the UEFA Cup, said Radjabali- Fardi who
recently signed a professional contract with Hertha until 2011.
A starter in Germany's Under-17 national football team, the left- wing
defender has already made football history by becoming the youngest player
at Hertha Berlin to play an official game for the club in the German
capital.
Hertha coach Lucien Favre is full of praise for Radjabali-Fardi, saying he
would not be afraid of sending him onto the pitch during a Bundesliga or
UEFA Cup match.
Radjabali-Fardi whose father is Iranian and mother is German, views
Arsenal's Ashley Cole as his idol.
