MNA - Iran football coach is
making efforts to arrange some ideal warm up games ahead of the 2010 FIFA
World Cup qualifications.
In a meeting held Sunday night in the football federation with Mehdi Taj,
Iran Football Federation’s vice-president, Ali Daei emphatically expressed
his deep concern over the lack of holding appropriate preparatory matches.
He ruled out a Japan friendly in Tokyo because of long distance. Daei also
rejected a warm up against an African team, stating there is no similarity
between Iran’s rivals and African football.
Daei hopefully stated Iran will have to play Oman as a team with some
similarity with Saudi Arabia.
Iran is scheduled to play Saudi Arabia on September 6 in King Fahd
International Stadium, Riyadh.
The Asian heavyweight has been drawn with Saudi Arabia, North Korea, South
Korea and the United Arab Emirates in Group B.
