PTV - Iran's national soccer
team, in its first friendly match, has been held to a 1-1 draw by Czech
Republic's Bohemians 1905 FC in Prague.
The match kicked off at 8:00 p.m. local time on Wednesday. Bohemians 1905
(previously named FC Bohemians Praha) took the lead in the 32nd minute and
finished the first half victoriously.
Qolamreza Rezaei, however, scored the equalizer for the Iranian side in the
52nd minutes.
Ali Daei's men are scheduled to face Slavia Prague, in their second friendly
match on July 25.
The 21-strong Iranian squad is currently holding a 7-day training camp in
the Czech Republic from July 21-28. The squad also held a 10-day training
camp in Marbella, Spain, from July 10-20.
The team is also preparing for the final Asian qualifying round for the 2010
World Cup in South Africa.
Iran has been drawn into Group B of the Asian qualifying round and will
compete with North Korea, the UAE and South Korea.
