GOAL - Fulham’s new Iranian star Andranik Teymourian believes that he has already impressed boss Roy Hodgson.

The midfielder, recently signed from Bolton, played one full half last weekend in a friendly against Celtic.

"I played 45 minutes and Roy Hodgson expressed his satisfaction with my performance during a chat I had with him after the match had ended,” Teymourain told Iranian Student News Agency (ISNA)

"I play the role of the defensive midfielder in the 4-4-2 system and have more defensive duties than Danny Murphy.

"I think I played well in that game as well and we could go ahead with two goals after Danny and me had entered the game. After that game Hodgson was happy with my display."

"I have been wearing number 6 in the training session and the friendly matches, most likely I'll be wearing the same number in the EPL. This number is a special one."

Teymourian also talked about fellow Asian star Seol Ki-hyeon and Australian goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer.

"I have no verbal rivalry with Seol because he doesn't speak too much, but I do with Schwarzer. I told him that is we play Australia again, the same disaster that Azizi brought for them will be repeated," said Teymourian referring to Iran's victory over Australia in the 1998 World Cup qualification play-off.

He is also looking forward to facing his old team when the season finally gets underway.

"In the first few weeks of the Premier League we will be playing against Hull City, Arsenal, Manchester United and Bolton which is more important for me than playing against Manchester or Arsenal."
