| IRNA - FC St. Pauli midfielder Ali-Reza Mansourian
departed Germany on Monday for Cyprus, after two Cypriot first division teams have shown great interest in signing the ex-Iranian
national football squad player, the bi-weekly Kicker sportmagazin reported here. Either one of the Cypriot teams, Anorthosis Famagusta or Apoel Nicosia, hope to sign the 30-year-old who is allowed to leave St. Pauli for a 50,000 euro transfer fee. The former Esteghlal player who joined St. Pauli in 2000, has been frustrated with his substitute role while his current team is struggling to avoid relegation into the second Bundesliga division. Mansourian, along with fellow compatriots Ali Daei and Mehdi Mahdavikia, are the only Iranian "legionaries" to still play in the German Bundesliga. |
