MNA - Tuesday’s home victory
against Sepahan of Isfahan in Rasht’s Sardar-e Jangal Stadium, secured a
semifinal berth for Pegah of Gilan in the Iran’s League Cup.
The hosts have swept 4-2 Sepahan in front of 20,000 spectators to qualify
for the semifinal round against Bargh of Shiraz.
Sepahan who had lost IPL title against Tehran-based Persepolis in the last
seconds of the game last week, endured the bitter experience once again
against IPL’s relegation-threatened Pegah.
Sepahan was set to celebrate 2-1 win over its hosts but conceded a wonderful
goal in the 90th minute. Two of Sepahan’s players were sent off by referee
Ali-Reza Faghani due to violent behavior.
Gilani side netted twice in the added time and qualified for the next round.
Fulad of Khuzestan and Esteghlal will face each other in another match on
Thursday in Ahvaz.
