PTV - The Court of Arbitration
for Sport will hear an appeal by Persepolis despite the club winning the
Iranian Premier League championship.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) said Monday that it might consider
hearing the popular Tehran team's appeal against its point deduction next
week.
Earlier in the season, FIFA deducted six points from the Tehran side for its
failure to pay off its debt to former employees and other clubs.
Despite the six-point deduction, Persepolis lifted the trophy on Saturday
after beating Sepahan 2-1.
The Reds finished with 59 points, while Sepahan stood second with 58 points.
