AFC- AFC Champions League
Group B pacesetters Saipa were held 1-1 by Saba Battery in the 29th round of
the Iran Pro League here on Sunday.
The defending champions, who are leading the AFC Champions League Group with
eight points, three more than Al Kuwait, fell behind in the 11th minute
through a Hamed Hajati strike.
Kianoosh Rahmati restored the parity for Ali Daei’s charges five minutes
from interval. Saipa are on 12th position in the 18-team standings with 36
points.
The Karaj-based outfit would like to seal their AFC Champions League
quarterfinal berth when they face Al Kuwait in their penultimate group game
on May 7.
