PTV - Ali Daei, former skipper
of Iran's national team and Saipa coach says strikers should not be blamed
for poor results of national squad.
Daei who recently participated in FIFA's technical committee meeting in
Lausanne as one of Asian representatives, spoke about soccer issues in Iran
and overseas.
“FIFA is considering a new rule to support the native players in some
European football clubs which foreign players are majority,” says Daei.
A good example of such clubs is England's Arsenal with almost no British
player.
“FIFA may use modern technology to monitor the goal lines in future to
prevent misjudgments as a result of human error,” He added.
Measures would also be taken to prevent teams from wasting the time, IRNA
reported on Friday.
Regarding the lukewarm performance of the national team in the world cup
preliminary, he said “We have good attacking players but when team plays
without proper planning the result will not be satisfying.”
“We did not utilize the advantage of home game with Syria, they played a
logical game and gained what they wanted,” said best national goal scorer of
the world.
Concerning the likely new coach of national team Javier Clemente, Daei said
“he is a well experienced coach with a good track record; he should be given
enough time and full authority to do the job.”
In relation to the selection of players for the national squad he believes
that there are still more talented players to be invited.
