FNA - Former Spain manager,
Javier Clemente, is about to finalize his contract to lead Iran's national
soccer team to the 2010 World Cup.
Clemente is to fly from Germany to Tehran on Saturday to sign the final
contract at a special inaugural ceremony, the Iranian Football Federation's
spokesman and deputy president, Mehdi Taj, said on Friday.
The soon-to-be Iranian coach will also be holding an international press
conference.
"Clemente will coach Iran against Syria on February 6 and his Iranian
assistants are to help him come up with the final arrangement for the
national team," Taj noted.
The Spaniard signed a draft agreement with the Iranian Football Federation (IFF)
on January 24.
Iran is in the Asian World Cup qualifying Group Five where it will compete
