FNA - Branko Ivankovic, former
boss of the Iranian national team has turned down a chance to coach Sepahan.
Sepahan, who finished as runners-up in the 2007 Asian Champions League, are
looking for a new coach after Luka Bonacic departed recently to take the
reins of UAE club Al-Nasr.
Ivankovic, who stepped down from Iran's national team after a disappointing
2006 World Cup campaign, was seen as the ideal candidate to succeed his
Croatian compatriot.
However, Ivankovic has announced that the time is not right to take the
reins of the Isfahan club, a report by Goal said.
"Yes an offer has been submitted by Sepahan officials," Ivankovic confirmed,
"but due to my plans in Croatia to set up a medical clinic, I cannot come to
Iran for now.
"Although considering Sepahan's reputation in Iran and Asia, coaching this
team is a great experience for any manager."
