PTV – A change in Emirates'
premier league schedule causes the cancellation of a friendly match between
soccer clubs Esteghlal and Al Wasl.
"Al Wasl officials announced on Wednesday that the team can not play against
Estheghlal because their schedule in the country's premier league has been
altered," Esteghlal deputy manager, Kamran Monzavi, said on Thursday.
"Esteghlal is slated to play a couple of preparatory matches with Al Emarat,
Al Nasr or the Al Ain club during the trip," Monzavi added.
The Iranian team arrived in Dubai on Tuesday to conduct a training camp for
twelve days.
Esteghlal's executive director, Ali Fatholahzadeh, and the team's technical
manager, Nasser Hejazi, will join the team on Saturday.
The Esteqlal soccer team, also known as 'The Blues', is one of the most
popular sports clubs in Tehran.
