IRNA - German Bundesliga club
Hansa Rostock is planning to play a test match against Iran's national
football in Tehran, Hansa club spokesman Axel Schulz told IRNA on Tuesday.
"We hope to be able to play against Iran on January 5. However, the date is
not definitive yet as some organizational details have yet to be worked out
this week," the official said.
He added the Bundesliga squad would fly to Tehran from its winter training
camp in Dubai and return the same day after the match.
Meanwhile, Hansa coach Frank Pagelsdorf was quoted as saying in the local
Rostock media that he would be "greatly delighted to play in front of 70,000
spectators" at Tehran's Azadi stadium.
Hansa Rostock features also Iranian B-national team footballer Amir
Shapourzadeh in their line-up.
Several Bundesliga clubs, among them Hamburger SV and FC Cologne, have in
the past played against the Iranian national football team.
