GOAL - The Iranian Football Federation (IFF) has announced that it plans to select a new national team coach in November.Team Melli has been without a coach since the contract of Amir Ghaleneoi expired after the team’s disappointing quarter-final exit at the 2007 Asian Cup. According to the Asian Football Conferderation's homepage, head of the Iranian Football Association Transitory Board Mohsen Farahani said: "Iran National team's new coach is set to be announced in 10 days time. "We plan to hire a classy coach. Now we are negotiating with three coaches from West European countries and one these will be appointed as Team Melli coach in a few days.” “Without doubt, he will be a big name among European coaches,” Farahani added. Iran will start qualification for the 2010 World Cup in February. |
