PTV - Afshin Qotbi, the new coach of the
popular Iranian soccer team, Perspolis, has been warmly received by the
team's supporters in Tehran.
Following a long period of negotiations and speculations the 43-year-old
Qotbi signed a one-year contract to train Reds at the 2007-8 Iran Premier
Football League.
Qotbi who worked for the Korean national team as a technical analyst under
Dutchman Guus Hiddink and Dick Advocaat, arrived in Tehran from Amsterdam,
Thursday night (Aug. 9).
He was welcomed by Perspolis' managing director Habibollah Kashani and a
slew of fans.
