Javad Nekounam
The player of the year in Osasuna has long been a National team player and
he really knows the players around him and the system well. He has also a
remarkable International and club experience. We may witness glimpse of
fatigue in Nekounam after a long first season in Europe. But hopefully
Nekounam will be ready for match day both mentally and physical.
Ali Karimi
He was out of action all season but he showed some signs of hope in his last
days in Bayern Munich. Karimi has it all. But after a troubled time in his
personal life and football life, is Karimi ready for another dance? We all
hope we can see the rebirth of the Karimi three years after his brilliance
in China. The only question is if Karimi wants to make it or not. Karimi
will either fly ore never take off.
Vahid Hashemian
He is one of there strikers that is favorite to be the top scorer in Asian
Cup 2007. Hashemian has not scored many goals for Iran and only scored 8
goals in the last 2 seasons, but Hashemian also provides a lot of assists
for other players. As always, his experience will be vital for Iran, AFC
