IranMania- The most important game of Thursday afternoon, 3rd January, in the 8th week of the Professional League was that of Persepolis and Pas. Persepolis has been at the top of the Table until now. The match ended as a 3-1 victory for Pas. This game is therefore the first loss for the number one team in the League.

The game started with the cheering of the supporters of both teams, which added much excitement to the stadium. The spectator turnout for the game this week was impressive and most of them were Persepolis fans.

A goal by Esmaeil Halali of Persepolis, in the first minutes of the game, brought this excitement to fever pitch. Perspolis was ahead by 1 goal at the start. The proud Pas players felt bitter about this goal and the Azizi and Khatibi pairwork led to many attacks on the Persepolis goal and the pressure mounted.

Khatibi's welljudged header in the 7th minute of the game was the equalizer for Pas. Fanaei's goalmouth had opened and 20 minutes later Nekoonam gained the edge with a good shot and gave Pas their second goal. Khatibi again got the better of the shocked Persepolis by scoring his second goal in the 35th minute. The lost game had now become a 100% win.

Although many attacks were mounted on the Pas goal area in the second half, Persepolis could not score any more goals. Nima Nakisa and Reza Torabian, the ex-Perspolis players and the present Pas defenders, showed a good performance for Pas.

Persepolis has to face Esteghlal next week and with one defeat to their name they have to work hard to prove themselves a superior there.
