MNA – Midfielder Pejman Nuri scored a late
winner to give Persepolis a 2-1 victory over Rah Ahan in the 29th week of
the sixth Iran Pro League in Azadi Stadium, west of Tehran, Friday.
The red-shirted Persepolis took the lead after four minutes, when striker
Alireza Nikbakht-Vahedi beat Rah Ahan keeper Mehdi Sabeti with a left drive
from close range.
Rah Ahan secured the parity in the 20th minute through Mehdi Tartar, who
slipped to send the ball in.
Persepolis, however, managed to get the perfect points six minutes from
normal time, with Nuri shooting home.
Persepolis provisionally moves to second place of the 16-strong table with
50 points.
Rah Ahan sticks to the 16th spot on meager 17 points.
In other games, Zob Ahan saw off Pas 3-2, Saba Battery thrashed Barq 3-0,
Mes and Paykan fought to a 1-1 draw, and Malavan-Abu Moslem match ended in a
nil-nil stalemate.
Fulad-Sepahan game was not played as Sepahan failed to travel to the
southern city of Ahvaz.
