AFC - Iran futsal coach Hossein Shams has
named a mixed squad of 14 players for the AFC Futsal Championship (May
13-19) in Japan.
Powering Iran’s quest to regain their lost glory will be none other than the
evergreen Vahid Shamsaee, aided by the likes of fellow veterans Mohammad
Reza Heidarian and Mohmmad Hashem Zade. Shamas has also included a number of
young players in his squad.
Iran, whose reign as seven-time consecutive champions came to end in
Uzbekistan last year when Japan won the championship, will tune up for the
competition with a friendly against Ukraine on May 8 at home.
Shams’ charges have been slotted in an easy Group D with Lebanon, China and
Malaysia for this edition of the AFC Futsal Championship.
THE SQUAD:
Mostafa Nazari, Asghar Ghahremani, Mansour Molaei, Mohammad Reza Heidarian,
Majid Latifi, Mohammad Keshavarz, Mohammad Reza Zahmatkesh, Javad Asghari
Moghadam, Vahid Shamsaei, Mohmmad Hashem Zade, Babak Masoumi, Kazam
Mohammadi, Ahmad Pariazar and Mohammad Taheri.
