MNA – Seven-time Asian titlist Iran gave the
Thai futsal side an 8-2 licking in a friendly here Wednesday.
Thailand had a dream start as it found the net just seconds after the
kickoff, but the visitor’s opener was canceled out by Mohammad Taheri three
minutes later from close range.
The goal spree started as veteran skipper Mohammadreza Heidarian celebrated
his double, Kazem Mohammadi hit his hat-trick, the Asian Player of the Year
Vahid Shamsaii struck one, and Taheri added another to the home side’s
asset.
Iran is prepping for the Asian meet in Japan from May 13-19.
Host Japan was on cloud nine as it toppled the Asian powerhouse Iran in the
last edition.
Iran has been drawn with Malaysia, China, and Lebanon in Group D of the
upcoming event.
