GOAL - Osasuna midfielder Patxi Puñal has
been ruled out for at least six weeks and Javad Nekounam has also been
sidelined for a month.
Puñal went down in training after picking up the knock and a scan on
Thursday night has now shown that he has strained the ligaments.
The 31-year-old will spend the next three weeks completely resting, before
beginning a recuperation programme that could last between three and five
more weeks.
There was more bad news on Friday in training as well for the Pamplona-based
club as Javad Nekounam was forced to finish the session early after
suffering an injury.
Tests showed that he has stretched the ligament in his right knee and the
Iranian international has been told that he will not play for the next three
of four weeks.
More bad news came when it was reported that Pierre Webó returned from
international duty with gastroentiritis and is doubt for the game against
Sevilla on Sunday.
Coach, Cuco Ziganda, is already without Ludovic Delporte, Valdo, Savo
Milosevic and Josetxo for the UEFA Cup quarter final, first leg meeting with
Bayer Leverkusen next week.
With Roberto Soldado and Carlos Cuéllar suspended for the match, Ziganda
will have to reshuffle his side.
