GOAL - Iran head coach Amir Ghaleneoi has announced a 31-player list for the upcoming international friendly with Doha in Qatar, to be staged on March 24.

Seven of those players will be left behind as the coach will take only 24 to the Qatari capital.

European-based stars such as Bayern Munich's Ali Karimi, Mehdi Mahdavikia of Hamburg, Bolton Wanderers' Andranik Teymourian, Javad Nekounam of Osasuna and Vahid Hashemian of Hannover 96 will appear.

There is also a first summons since the World Cup for Fereydoon Zandi. The former Kaiserslautern player is now in Cyprus with Apollon.

Hossein Kaabi has been left out of the Qatar clash as he is preparing with the Olympic squad.

The coach may consider calling up additional players following Monday's big game between Pas and Perspolis.
