PLDC - The Elimination Cup of Iran, the second most prestigious football tournament in the country, better known as the Hazfi Cup will resume on Tuesday as 8 teams go head to head.
From the round of 16, Perspolis Tehran will face Moghavemat of Shiraz in Azadi stadium.
The Red giants will have their full roster available to them after almost 3 months of constant injury and suspension problems. As for the Shirazi team that surprised Esteghlal Tehran in the previous round by eliminating the blues, is looking to pull another upset this time over the Reds of the capital.
In Isfahan, Sepahan will host Tarbiyat Badani of Yazd. Sepahan eliminated Saipa in the previous round and Tarbiyat Badani kicked Malavan Anzali out of the cup in the round of 16.
In an another mouth watering encounter, the surprise package of the cup, Sanat Naft of Abadan which has already eliminated two top flight teams from the cup, will host Saba Battery and will hope another good defensive display will help them go through to the last 4.
Pas Tehran will also have a difficult as they will face Esteghlal Ahvaz in Tehran.
All matches are based on single elimination and in case of a tie in regulation, extra-time and eventually penalty-kicks could decide the winner.
