AFC - The Iranian Football Federation Transitory Board set up a special
group to normalise current statutes in accordance with FIFA and AFC
regulations during its first meeting on Wednesday.
The Transitory Board, which was established after FIFA’s decision to lift
the ban on December 18, 2006 with Mohsen Safaei Farahani as chairman,
appointed Deputy Chairman Qumars Hashemi as spokesman and decided to review
the preparatory plans of the Iranian u-23 and senior team before the Olympic
2008 qualifying rounds and AFC Asian Cup 2007 respectively.
Also it was decided to held a meeting of the board twice a week.
Other members on the board are Mohammad Hassan Ansarifar, Hassan Ghafiri,
Mohammad Khabiri and Ali Reghbati.
The entire process of transition which includes ratification of new statutes
and organization of elections to the federation is expected to be completed
by March 31, 2007.
