GOAL - The agent of Bayern
Munich’s Ali Karimi has confirmed that Red Bull Salzburg are interested in
signing the player.
The Iranian has enjoyed minimal time on the pitch in this, his second season
with the German giants and was reportedly told recently that his contract
would not be renewed at the end of the season.
Giovanni Trapattoni, coach of the Austrian league leaders, believes that the
Wizard of Tehran would be an asset to his team and is expected to move for
the 2004 Asian Player of the Year in January.
Abolfazl Jalali told reporters: "Its true! Salzburg showed interest a while
ago, but until today Bayern has not disclosed anything to Ali Karimi. If
there is any agreement between two clubs, Ali Karimi will be the first
person to be made aware. "
"It is hard to reach a deal with FC Bayern officials. Ali Karimi is getting
paid £1 million each season, so this amount is not affordable for most
teams.”
