GOAL - Iranian defender Rahman Rezaei has no
regrets about life at new club Livorno. The 31 year-old spent three years at
Messina before heading to Livorno in the summer after the World Cup.
"I am very satisfied with my choice,” Rezaei, known as the Minister of
Defence at Messina, was quoted as saying by Iran’s ISNA.
“The situation is even better than I had thought. Playing in the UEFA Cup is
also a great motivation for me. Livorno has an especially large number of
players in defence and there is a lot of competition and this competition
creates a lot of motivation for every player."
"Before the start of the season, the coaches of the team put the team
together well. In our team, there are a lot of good players and we can do
well in Serie and the UEFA Cup."
The defender will soon be heading home to take on South Korea for the
Iranian national team in the last round of Asian Cup qualifiers – though
both teams have already secured their places in next summer’s competition.
"I will come to Tehran 3-4 days before the match and my invitation has been
sent by the Federation."
