Sportalasia- The second leg of the Asian Club Championship West & Central Region second round tie between Esteghlal and Al-Ittihad is expected to be an explosive encounter. There has already been five goals in the tie and the second leg in Tehran on Friday promises more. In the first leg on December 21 last year, Al-Ittihad defeated the Iranian team 3-2. With away goals playing an important part in the tournament, Esteghal are in good shape to advance should they win by a single goal as long as the Saudi side do not score more than two goals. Esteghal team supervisor, Nasrollah Abdollahi, said his team is in good shape. However, Nasrollah also added that Al-Ittihad is not just another team and are a force to be reckoned with. "The road to the next stage in the championship is much easier now. The boys are determined and you can be sure that we'll put up a good show on Friday." Al-Ittihad will be in Tehran with their full squad, including national team players. |
