IRNA - Ali Karimi's days at Bayern
Munich appear to be numbered as his contract will not be extended beyond
this Bundesliga season, the football weekly Sport Bild reported
Wednesday.
The 27-year-old Karimi, who has yet to score this season, has been
mainly sitting on the reserve bench during the first nine matches.
Bayern coach Felix Magath, who had great hopes for Karimi when he signed
him in 2005, has been frustrated by the Iranian player's apparent
unwillingness to learn the German language in a bid to be able to adjust
better within the team.
Magath said he had told Karimi that learning the language is a
"prerequisite for being successful at Bayern."
"How can you adapt to (the team) when you don't understand anything,"
the Bayern trainer asked rhetorically.
According to Sport Bild, Karimi has finally decided to contact language
schools in Munich and wants to hire a private German teacher.
