BBC - Dutchman Arie Haan has been named as the
new coach of the Cameroon national team.
The 57-year-old takes over from Portuguese Artur Jorge who resigned in
March.
Haan will be assisted by his compatriot Theo de Jong with local coaches
Jules Frederic Nyonga and Thomas Nkono also joining the coaching staff.
Former tennis player Yannick Noah was also added to the backroom staff as an
adviser to the national team.
Haan spent his playing career with Ajax Amsterdam, Anderlecht, Standard
Liege and PSV Eindhoven and was capped 35 times.
His first major assignment is on 3 September, when the Indomitable Lions
face Rwanda in Kigali for the start of the 2008 Nations Cup qualifying
campaign.
Cameroon play in Group 5 alongside neighbours Equatorial Guinea, Liberia and
Rwanda.
