MNA – Striker Gholamreza Enayati found the net after five minutes to help Iran beat the United Arab Emirates (UAE) 1-0 in a football friendly in Azadi Stadium, west of Tehran, Tuesday.

It was the first match the newly appointed manager Amir Qal’e-Noii coached Iran.

The home team missed seven scoring chances to expose its weak finishing touch.

Javad Kazemian and Mehrzad Ma’danchi rattled the visitor’s post on 35 and 36 minutes and Amir-Hossein Sadeqi’s header was saved by the UAE keeper Walid Salem in the goalmouth nine minutes from time.

Iran keeper also denied the visiting side in the 90th minute, securing the early winner.
