Skysports - Andranik Teymourian's move to Bolton Wanderers could be in doubt after reports in Iran revealed the midfielder has been refused a work permit.

The 23-year-old impressed Trotters manager Sam Allardyce during his country's World Cup campaign in Germany earlier this summer and was offered the chance to win a move to The Premiership during a trial.

Teymourian had previously stated that he was expecting to join Bolton following his trial at The Reebok Stadium but the move is now in jeopardy after the Home Office turned down the request for a work permit.

Non-EU players must have played at least 75 percent of their country's internationals over the past two years in order to be allowed to play in The Premiership.

Teymourian only forced his way into the Iran national team squad last year and has just 10 caps, therefore does not meet the Home Office's criteria.

Bolton are likely to appeal the ruling, with Allardyce expected to put forward strong reasons to bring the Abu Muslem star to England.
Should Bolton appeal, an independent panel will consider Teymourian's credentials and the Iran ace may still be allowed to ply his trade in The Premiership next season should they think he is of sufficient calibre.
