MNA – Iran’s football team Tuesday returned home from Croatia, where it played a World Cup warm-up.
Out of the squad, the Bundesliga-bound midfielders Mehdi Mahdavikia and Fereydun Zandi headed for Germany to treat their injuries.

A spot-kick deep into stoppage time helped Croatia hold Iran to a 2-2 draw in Osijek Sunday night.

Iran plays its last friendly against Bosnia & Herzegovina in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium Wednesday.

The Iranian side takes on heavyweights Portugal and Mexico and debutant Angola in Group D first round matches of the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
