AFC - The Iran Pro League committee has
decided to postpone the Hazfi Cup final till after the World Cup. The new
date and venue for the final will be decided later.
The final between Persepolis and Sepahan was first scheduled to be played on
May 21 in Mashhad but was postponed after the refusal of the local sports
authority to host the match.
The committee met on Monday and decided to hold the match after the World
Cup but refused the proposal of the Iran Physical Education Organisation,
the top sports body of the country, to host it home-and-away.
Persepolis, who refused to travel to Mashhad for the final, may face
disciplinary action from the Iran Football Federation.
