IRIB - Deputy Iran's Football
Federation announced on Saturday that the motto of the Iranian national
soccer in the World Cup is "Persian Gulf Men".
Interviewed by IRIB, Alipour said a previous motto as 'Parsi Stars' was
not approved by the Federation.
The Federation has considered the patriotic slogans such as "Should Iran
not survive, I'd rather sacrifice me" for spectators and "The Men of
Persian Gulf" for national football squad, he added.
Pointing to warm welcome of local residents of Frankfort to Iran's
national squad, Alipour added that many youngsters from different
countries and nationalities came to Iran's consulate in Frankfort to get
flags and photos of Iran's national soccer players.
