IRNA - Scores of
international player agents are attending the pre-World Cup training
camp of the Iranian national squad in the historic Swiss town of Spiez,
hoping to land a major deal with some of the Team Melli members, the
weekly Focus news magazine said Monday.
According to the director of the Spiez-based Belvedere Hotel, Markus
Scherrer who is host to the Iranian national team, the whole Swiss
region is 'overrun with player agents who are closely watching the
Iranian players'.
At least two high profile Iranian national team players -- Ferydoon
Zandi and Javad Nekounam -- whose contracts have expired with Germany's
FC Kaiserslautern and FC Sharjah Wanderers respectively, are currently
looking for new clubs.
The Iranian national squad is currently holding a training camp in
Switzerland from May 8 through 18.
