ISNA -After canceling friendly games of
Iran's national football team against Ukraine and Romania, this concern
was remained that Iran's game against Costa Rica will be cancelled too,
but Costa Rica's Football Federation chief emphasized on this friendly
game.
"We will play against Iran and no excuse will be accepted in this case.
We don’t know who makes these rumors, but the fact is that these rumors
are not true," said one of Costa Rica's Football Federation members, Ali
Aqil regarding the recent rumors about Iran and Costa Rica game.
He as a Costa Rican Shiite said that this game was a statement against
the recent caricatures and insults on prophet of Islam published by some
European media.
"I know Iran's society and like to announce our protest by holding this
game between Iran and Costa Rica," he added.
