Iranian Football Federation: Tags Spiegel Must Apologize

ISNA -Iran has protested to insulting cartoon published by German newspaper of Iran's national Football team.

"We constantly will request the Germany World Cup 2006 holding committee to take actions against the doings of the German Newspaper Tags Spiegel," said Iranian Football Federation high advisor, Gholam Reza Rafiee.

"I don’t think that Germany World Cup 2006 holding officials know anything about the aims and actions of Tags Spiegel, because in that case they would have never allowed such actions considering the laws and regulations placed by FIFA," said Iranian Football Federation high advisor.

"As Iran's Football Federation high advisor and as an Iranian, I request the holding committee, regarding its responsibilities as the host of these games and their pre-noted standings, which have clearly announced that politics is separate from sport, to take actions towards this German newspaper and to insure and guarantee that such mischiefs will never happen again," he emphasized.

Iran's Football Federation high advisor also requested that World Cup 2006 holding officials pressure this newspaper to apologize from Iran.
