MNA – Persepolis newly elected managing
director Hassan Ansarifard here Sunday said veteran manager Ali Parvin would
not quit the popular football team.
Former Persepolis and national skipper Parvin,
who was infuriated by his side’s poor performance in Friday’s home
humiliating 4-2 loss to lowly Fajr-e Sepassi, announced his resignation
immediately after the match.
He vowed to not to sit in the reds’ dugout as he did in Sunday’s meeting,
but once Persepolis and national midfielder Ansarifard convinced Parvin
dubbed “Sultan” to stay.
Shifting to the mouthwatering friendly against high-profile German side
Bayern Munich, the managing director assured that the Bundesliga midseason
champion would travel to Tehran to array against Persepolis in Azadi Stadium
on January 13.
Ansarifard’s promise is in sharp contrast to the statement of a Bayern
spokeswoman, who denied Iranian press reports that a deal had been signed
between the German record champion and Persepolis to play a friendly on Jan.
13.
"That's definitely wrong. No contacts have been signed yet. It's still not
sure whether Bayern will play a friendly on Jan.13," she told IRNA.
The defending Bundesliga titleholder will hold its traditional winter
training camp in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, from January 6-16.
Bayern's last trip to Iran dates back to the early 1970s when it faced
Iran’s national team.
