Jakarta - Indonesia was beaten by Iran 0-3 in
the Asian Under-18 Student Football Championship in Banten, on Thursday.
Until the first 20 minutes the host`s team was able to handle its opponent`s
playing tactics, but later it lost control of its front and mid lines
providing a room for Iran`s Ramzi Hamid to score at the 24th minute.
The Indonesian team lost 0-1 in the first half.
In the second half, the Iranians changed their strategy and in the 6oth
minute it was Ramzi again who made the second goal.
Iran scored another goal in the 70th minute through Goudarzi S who
outsmarted the host`s three back players.
Indonesian team`s coach Kunaryo told ANTARA after the match that his team
had a physical constraint to face the Iranians who are generally much
taller.
"We have anticipated this fact by playing short passes, but to no avail," he
said.
Around 1,000 spectators watched the game which was led by Chaiya Mahapab
from Thailand. The referree produced five yellow cards - two for Indonesian
players and three for their opponents.
