IRNA - Ali Karimi's overall excellent
defensive and offensive skills make defending Bundesliga champs Bayern
Munich even stronger, said a leading German football expert following the
Iranian star player's successful debut during his team's 3-0 victory against
Borussia Moenchengladbach.
"For me, Karimi is the discovery of the Bayern match. This Iranian has
everything necessary to become an outstanding defensive midfielder. He has
already displayed his class in the first 45 Bundesliga minutes," wrote Paul
Breitner in a post-game analysis for the Sunday daily Bild am Sonntag.
He hailed Bayern coach Felix Magath for signing Karimi, branding it "a
genial move since it gives the team more defensive options".
A popular football analyst in the German media, Breitner was a member of the
1974 German national football squad which won the World Cup in a dramatic
final against the Netherlands.
