IRNA - Ali Karimi is to play a major role in
the offensive game plan of Bayern Munich coach Felix Magath, the Kicker
sports magazine reported Monday.
The Iranian star footballer will play a central offensive position, backed
up by his new Bayern teammate Michael Ballack who will act as a more
defensive halfback.
Magath said earlier Karimi's perfect dribbling skills and his one-on-one
play would fit well with Bayern's offensive style of game.
The Bayern trainer voiced confidence that Karimi would become an
"outstanding Bundesliga player" once he adapts himself to the team's
training program.
The defending champion coach had pushed for Karimi's transfer from the
United Arab Emirates club Al-Ahli following his superb play in Iran's
friendly match against Germany last October
