Beckenbauer confident Karimi will prevail at Bayern Munich

IRNA - German football legend Franz Beckenbauer is confident Iranian football star Ali Karimi will meet the high expectations at his new club Bayern Munich for the coming Bundesliga season.

"I feel confident about Ali Karimi at Bayern Munich. I saw him at the Germany-Iran match and he made the German players dizzy with his tricks in the first half," Beckenbauer said Sunday during a roundtable discussion on the private sports television network DSF.

"The only question remains whether he can be integrated in the Bayern system," he added.

Bayern Munich coach Felix Magath had pushed for Karimi's transfer from the United Arab Emirates club Al Ahli following his superb play in Iran's friendly match against Germany last October.
