AFC - Out of favour Bayern Munich striker
Vahid Hashemian could call Hannover 96 as his new home if the club’s
interest in him materialises.
The German sports portal, sport1.de said yesterday that the club was
seriously considering to strengthen their attack by signing Hashemian.
The striker has been in outstanding form for Iran, scoring two goals in
their 2-1 upset of Asian champions, Japan.
Hashemian has a contract until 2006 but seems to play no role in
Bayern's current plans. He can leave Bayern for a transfer fee of around
USD $1.9 million.
Other teams to have also signalled their interest in the Iranian
international, who had scored 25 goals during the last two Bundesliga
seasons for Vfl Bochum were Hertha Berlin, Vfl Bochum, Vfl Wolfsburg and
FC Cologne.
