Miroslav Blazevic has revealed he will bring 1860 Munich forward Davor
Suker back to Croatia in the summer. "We have spoken about it. He is coming after the World Cup. He will start a business in the area and finish his career here," the former Croatia coach told. Blazevic conceded that the move would only come off if he himself remained at the club. "But I think that's a certainty," he said. "I have not finished my work here." If Blazevic has indeed persuaded Suker to quit 1860, it will be a major coup. Only recently, the Golden Boot winner at France 98 was suggesting he wanted to see out his career in the Bundesliga. "There has been some contact from Spain, Austria and Turkey. There has even been a prince from Dubai who got in touch, wanting me to play over there," said the former Real Madrid hero. "But if I don't agree a new deal with Munich, I will be looking no further than the World Cup to continue my career." Meanwhile, Blazevic sees a glorious future for his new club, who he took charge at last month following a spell with the Iranian national team. "We will be champions next year," he predicted. "I can do big things here. Osijek have great players, so why shouldn't we be champions? "I said long ago that I wanted to achieve my last career goal in the competition where I haven't had success - the Croatian league. I have options in the Bundesliga and the Far East, but maybe I will just stay at Osijek." |
