IRNA - VfL Bochum`s Iranian striker Vahid Hashemian
is negotiating with German Bundesliga record champ Bayern Munich, a Bochum team official confirmed to DPA on Thursday.
"It`s no April Fools joke. (Bayern manager) Uli Hoeness has called and informed us that they want to sign Vahid," said Bochum`s board
member Dieter Meinhold who sees only slim chances to resign Hashemian.
"We would like to extend Vahid`s contract, however that is utopian when Bayern Munich is sitting at the negotiation table," Meinhold
added.
The former Pas player whose current contract with Bochum ends on June 30, 2005, is also high on the wish list of several top Bundesliga
clubs like VfB Stuttgart, Bayer Leverkusen and FC Schalke 04.
Hashemian`s transfer fee is reportedly fixed at around 2 million euro.
The 27-year-old speedy striker, nicknamed `helicopter` for his jumping abilities, is presently ranked fourth in the Bundesliga
scoring table with 12 goals out of 26 games.
