Tehran Times - Persepolis football club completed the signing of Portuguese forward Lucas Joao and former Esteghlal midfielder Saeid Mehri.
Joao, 31, played for Qatari side Umm Salal last season and scored three goals in 10 matches.
He started his playing career in Portuguese team Nacional and has also played at English sides Blackburn Rovers and Reading.
Lucas Joao made his full debut for Portugal in 2015, before changing his allegiance to Angola in 2022.
Persepolis also hired former Esteghlal player Mehri on a two-year deal.
Mehri, 26, started his playing career on Machine Sazi in 2016 and was a member of Persepolis’ archrivals Esteghlal from 2021 to 2024.
He has joined Persepolis from Cypriot team APOEL.
